Impact Story: A Growing Partnership with Madison Elementary School District

Since 2023, Madison Elementary School District and All for Lunch have worked together to reduce school lunch debt, ease financial pressures on families, and help ensure students have access to nutritious meals.

Some of the most meaningful impact happens when a school partnership has time to grow.

Since 2023, All for Lunch has partnered with Madison Elementary School District to help address school lunch debt and provide additional support for students and families throughout the district.

Over several years, that partnership has helped turn community generosity into meaningful support for families while helping ensure students can focus on being students, not on the balance in their lunch accounts.

But the impact of a partnership isn’t always best explained by a number.

Sometimes, it’s better to hear it directly from the people serving students every day.

“Partnering with All for Lunch has been an incredible experience for Madison Elementary School District. Their support allowed us to provide additional assistance to our students and families while ensuring students have access to nutritious school meals. We are grateful for their generosity and partnership, and for their shared commitment to supporting the health, well-being, and success of our students and school community.”

A Partnership Built Around Students and Families

School lunch debt is rarely just a number on a school account. Behind a balance may be a family navigating a difficult month, an unexpected expense or a period when there simply isn’t enough room in the household budget.

Schools see those realities up close. That is one reason All for Lunch works directly with schools and districts: the people serving students every day understand their communities, their families and where support can make a meaningful difference.

Our partnership with Madison Elementary School District reflects that approach. Rather than a one-time moment, the relationship has continued since 2023, creating an ongoing way for community support to reach students and families through the district.

What Long-Term Partnership Makes Possible

An ongoing school partnership gives generosity somewhere to go when a need arises.

It allows All for Lunch to stay connected with the district, better understand the need for lunch debt support and help turn donations into relief where it can matter most.

For students, the goal is simple: lunch should feel like an ordinary part of the school day. A child’s financial situation at home should not become something they have to carry into the cafeteria.

For families, support with school meal balances can mean one less financial pressure competing for attention. And for schools, community partnership can provide another resource as they work every day to support the health, well-being and success of their students.

The School Perspective Matters

Impact stories are often told through dollars raised or balances eliminated. Those measures matter, but they are only part of the picture.

Melissa Harvey’s words capture something numbers alone cannot: what partnership looks like from inside a school district. It is additional support for students and families. It is a shared commitment to nutritious school meals. And it is a community working together around the well-being and success of its students.

That is the kind of partnership All for Lunch was built to create.

Growing the Impact Together

We are grateful to Madison Elementary School District for trusting All for Lunch as a partner and for the work its Food & Nutrition Services team does every day for students and families.

Since 2023, this partnership has continued to grow around a simple belief we share: students should have access to lunch at school, regardless of their financial situation at home.

Through the Madison Elementary School District campaign, community members can join that effort and help support students and families throughout the district.

We’re proud of what this partnership has made possible, and even more grateful for the people behind it.
