When a community comes together around its students, support can grow into something lasting.
Since December 2023, Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) in Maryland has partnered with All for Lunch to make it easier for community members to help address unpaid school meal balances. The relationship has continued to grow, bringing local generosity directly to a need that schools and families know well.
During the last school year alone, the partnership generated more than $22,000 in community donations to help reduce school meal debt across the division. Behind that milestone is a shared commitment: students deserve the nourishment and support they need to participate fully in the school day.
Making It Easier for a Community to Help
A willingness to give can make a difference only when people have a clear, practical way to act on it. Through the All for Lunch platform, the Frederick County community has a dedicated way to support the school division’s efforts to address unpaid meal balances.
For FCPS, the partnership connects community support with the everyday work of school nutrition. For families, it can mean less financial pressure surrounding school meals. And for students, the goal is a school day where lunch is simply lunch, not another source of worry.
In the School District’s Own Words
“Supporting student success inside and outside the classroom, Frederick County Public Schools is excited to continue its partnership with All for Lunch to ensure every child has access to nutritious, hot meals. Since initiating the partnership in December 2023, the seamless initiative generated $22,000 in community donations during the last school year alone—funds applied directly toward reducing local school meal debt. With studies consistently linking regular breakfast and lunch consumption to improved test performance, focus, and behavior, FCPS remains committed to utilizing All for Lunch’s platform to eliminate hunger as a barrier to education. FCPS is thankful for All for Lunch and their incredible support for our students, and we are excited to continue working together in the years ahead.”

More Than a Fundraising Milestone
The community donations raised through this partnership represent more than a total. They reflect neighbors choosing to support students and a school division making that generosity part of its broader commitment to student well-being.
School meals are an important part of the daily routine. When students can count on nutritious meals, schools can keep their attention on teaching, learning and helping children succeed. Addressing unpaid meal balances is one practical way a community can support that work.
A Partnership Built to Continue
We are grateful to Frederick County Public Schools for the care its team brings to students and families, and for welcoming All for Lunch as a partner in that work.
What began in December 2023 has become an ongoing example of how a school division and its community can work together to take the burden of lunch debt off students’ plates. We are proud to be part of that effort and excited for the impact still ahead.
